Syriac Military Council regimental commander Haido: “We will be available for our Syriac people wherever they are.”
TEL TAMR, Syria — In the face of continued attacks by Turkey and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) along the Khabur River Valley in North and East Syria, the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) stated they will continue to protect the area and strengthen their military points on the lines of contact to ensure the security of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people.
In an interview with the MFS Media Center, the field commander Abjar Haido stated that, “We, as the Regiment of Martyr Athro Hasakah, will always remain on the lines of contact with the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in the villages of the Khabur, and we have prepared extensive military positions to defend our areas.”
Haido also indicated that the MFS is ready for any potential Turkish attacks or encroachments, saying, “We will intensify our efforts and reinforce our forces to prevent any force from encroaching on the areas of our Syriac people and their property and defend against another 1915 Sayfo Genocide or the 2015 Islamic State attacks on the Khabur.
Haido stressed the responsibility placed on them. “The Turkish occupation is strengthening its points, so we took precautions against any attacks, because it is our responsibility to protect our people,” he said.
“We will be available for our Syriac people wherever they are.”
