Progressive Syriac Youth Union offer condolences to the family of Malik Yohanoun

QABRE HEWORE, Syria — Since the death of the young journalist and Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO) member Malik Yohanoun in a car accident in Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria last month, the ADO in Qabre Hewore (Al-Qahtaniyah) announced the reception of mourners to the family of the deceased for an additional week. In turn, the Progressive Syriac Youth Union offered the duty of condolences at the ADO’s headquarters in Qabre Hewore.

In view of the common relations between the youth of the Assyrian Democratic Organization, in which Yohanoun was a significant figure, the Progressive Syriac Youth Union, Sobhi Malki, an official of the Union, offered condolences the Yohanoun family. Malki spoke of Malik’s dedication to the national struggle and the sacrifices he made.

Mariana Issa, Co-Chair of the Union, spoke about the relationship between the two institutions and the need to stand side-by-side during trying times.

The families of the deceased thanked the youth delegation for their participation and support.

Malik Yohanoun died in a car accident on the Zalin–Qabre Hewore road. He was known for his activity in national work by educating young people about their history and conducting folklore activities.
