Beth Nahrain Patriotic Union in Iraq congratulates Syriac Union Party in Syria on 16th anniversary of its founding

ANKAWA / NINEVEH PLAINS, Iraq — On the 16th anniversary of the founding of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria, the Beth Nahrain Patriotic Union Party in Iraq issued a statement congratulating the party:

“First of all, we bow to the martyrs of the Beth Nahrin National Council and all the martyrs of our people.

We in the Beth Nahrain Patriotic Union in Iraq are pleased to extend our warmest congratulations to the Syriac Union Party in Syria on the 16th anniversary of its founding. We congratulate you, the Syriac Union Party, always in the service of our people, on your diplomatic work in the field in Syria for the freedom of our people.

We are proud of your work in the Democratic Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria. At the same time, we are proud of the constructive work you have done to establish the Syrian Democratic Forces which has liberated the region from terror organization Islamic State and keeps it safe.

Your self-sacrifice has opened a new page in our national consciousness and identity and has strengthened our faith in humanity.

We wish all your members and the party’s leadership success and the achievement of their goals, including ensuring the full rights of our [Syriac] people and other national and religious components.”

The Syriac Union Party has received congratulations from various parties, e.g., from co-chair of the Executive Council in the Gozarto (Jazira) Region Talaat Younis, from the Democratic Union Party (Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat‎, PYD) in North and East Syria, and from sister organization the Universal Syriac Union Party in Lebanon.

The Syriac Union Party in Syria, the Beth Nahrain Patriotic Union in Iraq, and the Universal Syriac Union Party in Lebanon are affiliates of the Beth Nahrin National Council.
