The Syriac Union Party in Syria receives Democratic Islamic Conference delegation in Zalin
ZALIN (QAMISHLI), Syria – In the framework of coordinating with movements and parties in the region, co-chair of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria Sanharib Barsoum received a delegation from the Democratic Islam Conference (DIC) at SUP’s headquarters in the city of Zalin.
The visiting delegation on Monday included a.o. the DIC co-chair Mohammed al-Gharzi, deputy co-chair Rahman Badrakhan, DIC advisor Abdul Karim Sarukhan, and DIC vice-president DIC Hebatullah Dubeliz. They were received by the SUP co-chair Sanharib Barsoum and SUP official Nora Hanna.
The two parties discussed religious pluralism in the areas of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria, and the great work by the DAA in contributing and consolidating pluralism and relations among the different religious components, which was also manifested through the foundation of the Forum of All Religions for representatives of all religions.
The DIC delegation also presented its latest co-project to organize an International Conference of Religions. The two parties stressed the importance of this project to achieve rapprochement between all religions.
Syriac Union Party co-chair Barsoum affirmed his support for these efforts, as well as working for the success and objectives of the International Conference of Religions.
