Voice of America: ISIS women primarily responsible for murders committed in Al-Hol Camp in North and East Syria

AL-HOL, Syria – As violence once again begins to surge in the Al-Hol Refugee Camp in North and East Syria that houses tens of thousands of people affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) Voice of America reported that most of the murders committed in the camp are carried out by the so-called ”Hisbah Women”, religious police established by ISIS during its control in Syria and Iraq.

The report stated that these women impose ISIS laws in the camp and sentence to death any woman who violates them.

The U.S.-based Al-Hurra website, quoting Western sources, stated that ISIS was able to recruit a large number of women and girls for spreading its terrorist ideas among children and adolescents in the camp.

Meanwhile, Western reports have warned of the emergence of a new terrorist generation in the camp amid calls by the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria to find a solution to years-long detained of ISIS families, including repatriating foreign nationals.

In related news, the Iraqi Security Forces thwarted an attempt by three ISIS prisoners to escape from Taji prison, north of Baghdad. The three men are all serving life sentences.

In a statement, the Joint Operations Command said that a joint security force thwarted the escape attempt.

The statement also clarified that the force opened fire on them when they saw them crossing the outer fence of the prison and they did not comply with the orders. One of the men was killed, the other two surrendered.

Last May, 21 prisoners managed to escape from Al-Hilal prison, located in Al-Hilaliyah district, Al-Muthanna governorate.
