ZALIN: Priest of Virgin Mary Church extends Epiphany congratulations
ZALIN (QAMISHLI), Syria— On the day of Epiphany, SyriacPress affilliate Suroyo TV interviewed priest Abdul Masih Youssef of the Syriac Orthodox Virgin Mary Church:
“On Epiphany, we celebrate Christ’s Baptism in the Jordan River at the hands of John the Baptist and the appearance of the Holy Trinity in the form of a dove, and that is why it is called Feast of the Divine Apparition.”
Fr Youssef added that the Holy Liturgies were held in all the Syriac Orthodox churches, in the presence of the faithful.
“From here in Zalin we extend our blessings and congratulations on this occasion to our people, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Ephrem II, and all priests, metropolitans and our Christian people in the whole world,” said the priest.
