North and East Syria officials congratulations to Suroyo FM on second anniversary of founding
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On the second anniversary of the founding of Suroyo FM, Co-Chair of the General Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria Siham Qurio extended congratulations to Suroyo FM Radio staff. Suroyo FM, founded on 2 February 2020 in Zalin (Qamishli), is the first Syriac radio station in Gozarto (Jazira) Region.
Qurio stated that founding a Syriac radio station to convey the voice of the Beth Nahrain National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) and its goals is an important step for preserving the identity of the Syriac (Aramean–Chaldean–Assyrian) people in their historical land and for obtaining their rights.
The Syriac Union Party (SUP) also congratulated Suroyo FM, saying that the station contributes to the Syriac (Aramean–Chaldean–Assyrian) people’s revolution at all levels and furthers their participation alongside other components of the region.
The SUP declared that the media played a major role in showing the situation on the ground to the whole country, indicating that Suroyo FM has played an important role in conveying the truth as a free voice of all components of North and East Syria.
The Syriac Women’s Union (SWU) also congratulated Suroyo FM on its anniversary, referring to its great impact for the people of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia). The SWU wished the station success in conveying the voice of the Syriac people to the world.
