Co-Chair of the General Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Siham Quryo: The Election Law aims for equality in electoral participation

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA – The General Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria is discussing the Election Law draft for North and East Syria, as reported on the DAA website. 

On 9th February, preparations to hold the elections throughout North and East Syria were launched after completing the new Social Contract, according to Co-Chair of the DAA General Council Siham Quryo (Syriac Union Party).

Quryo told Suroyo TV that, “the election Law aims for equal electoral participation for all components and groups of society, to guarantee the rights of voters and candidates who participated in elections, and ensure the fairness, freedom and integrity of elections.” 

Quryo added that the Election Law draft included definitions and objectives of the electoral process, conditions and procedures for nomination and functions of the High Elections Commission, electoral campaigns and election procedures.
