Female delegation of Syriac institutions visits Bethnahrin Women’s Protection Forces

TEL TAMR, Syria — On International Women’s Day, a joint delegation consisting of the Women’s Office of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) and the Syriac Women’s Union (SWU) visited the Martyr Ishtar Academy in the Khabur River Valley and the headquarters of the Sutoro (Syriac Security) Women.

The visiting delegation congratulated the Bethnahrin Women’s Protection Force (Ḥaylawotho d’Sutoro d’Neshe d’Beth Nahrin, HSNB) and the Sutoro Women on International Women’s Day. The delegation commended the heroism and great courage shown by the Syriac women of the protection forces and all other women who have had to take up arms to defend their people and homeland in North and East Syria.

During the visit, the female fighters stated that they had faced many social difficulties when they made the decision to enter the armed forces to defend their homeland.

However, by challenging these traditions that undermined the capabilities of women, they proved to the whole world that the Syriac women are very effective on the frontlines of the war against terrorism. The female fighters vowed to continue their struggle and to defend their homeland and its people.
