Syriac Maronite Patriarch al-Raï meets Belgian Ambassador to Lebanon and the parliamentary candidate for the Syriac Maronite seat in Matn

BETH KERKE, Lebanon — On Friday, the Syriac Maronite Patriarch Mor Beshara Boutros al-Raï received the Belgian Ambassador to Lebanon Hubert Korman, at the patriarchal residence in Beth Kerke (Bkerki). Ambassador Korman appreciated the Patriarch’s bold stances regarding the war in Ukraine and the Lebanese situation. He stressed his support for the Patriarch in his guidance of the Lebanese people, amid the harsh living conditions that the East is going through in general and Lebanon in particular.

The Patriarch also received the parliamentary candidate for the Syriac Maronite seat in Matn who is supported by the Lebanese Forces, Razi al-Haj. Al-Haj stated that he visited the patriarchal residence for permanent coordination with Patriarch, on the “Beth Kerke for Lebanon” project, which demands Lebanon’s neutrality and extricating Lebanon from regional axes, especially the axis of resistance. Al-Haj declared that neutrality and an international conference to protect Lebanon are essential demands of their electoral project in the post-election stage.
