German court sentences ISIS woman who returned from Syria to 6 years in prison
HAMBURG, Germany — A German court issued a ruling against a German woman who joined the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria, condemning her extremist affiliation.
The Hamburg Supreme Court sentenced a German woman who returned from Syria to six and a half years in prison.
The Court charged the woman with belonging to a terrorist group abroad, committing war crimes, violating care and education, and manslaughter.
The Court stated that the woman travelled to Syria and took her son to a civil war zone. She placed him there as a child soldier in an armed terrorist group until he was killed in Raqqa in February 2018.
