SYRIA: Power plant in Tel Tamr repaired after being damaged by Turkish shelling 

TEL TAMR, Syria — Power has been restored in the Tel Tamr area of the Khabur River Valley in North and East Syria following damage caused by Turkish shelling on the area’s power plant knocked it out of service.

Maintenance crews of the Tel Tamr Electricity Center began repairs of the powerlines running between the villages of Taweelah and Timar (Umm al-Keif).

This is not the first time Turkish forces and their proxy Syrian National Army (SNA) have targeted key infrastructure in Khabur or elsewhere in North and East Syria. Civilian property, water facilities, and other infrastructure has been damaged over the past two years.

During the recent attacks, leader of the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) Orom Maroge and a Russian translator accompanying him were injured.

Attempts have been ongoing to establish Khabur as a separate canton for the Suraye people within the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) system but have so far been unsucce
