Syriac Women’s Union holds course for Syriac institutions
HASAKAH, Syria — In the framework of the recurrent sessions of the Beth Nahrin National Council, the Syriac Women’s Union organized an intellectual training course in Hasakah, North and East Syria. The course, named after Martyr Alaria, was attended by 22 members of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) institutions.
President of the Syriac Women’s Union Elham Mattli told Suroyo TV that the course began on Thursday and included lessons on and clarification of important terminology, transitional justice, special warfare, and intercommunal relations.
The objective of the course, said Mattli, is to strengthen the institutions and the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and foster a spirit of cooperation between them.
The course lasts six hours a day and includes a lunch break. Mattli voiced optimism that the course’s objectives will be achieved.
Ibrahim Adamu, an official of the Syriac Cultural Association, said that the course is running according to the established schedule and the prevailing atmosphere between lecturers and recipients is positive.
He expressed gratitude for the establishment of such courses which strengthen and support the interdependence and collaboration of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) institutions.
