Spokesman for the Syriac Military Council Matay Hanna: No changes took place to the military forces’ deployment in North and East Syria

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On Monday, the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Turkey would soon launch a new military operation in northern Syria.

Spokesman for the Syriac Military Council (Mawthbo Folhoyo Suryoyo, MFS) Matay Hanna via Facebook stated that, “Despite Erdoğan’s statements to go deep into the Syrian territory, no changes took place to the military forces’ deployment in North and East Syria.”

Hanna indicated that military and logistical reinforcement reached for certain guarantor forces in the region to maintain stability and safety.

Coordination and joint patrols were conducted to maintain the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and prevent any terrorist operations that attempt to destabilize the region.

He declared that Turkey and its proxies, through their artillery, missile bombardment, drones, are still endangering the lives of the civilians.

“Turkey seeks demographic change in the region, “said Hanna. “It also pursues approval from great powers to launch new military operations that provide a haven for terrorist groups, and thus strike safety and stability of the region.”
