Syrian Democratic Council Relations Office visits Syriac Union Party

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On Tuesday, the Syriac Union Party (SUP) received a delegation from the Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC). The visit was held to discuss ways of consolidating cooperation between the two parties and discuss recent developments in the region, especially the increased Turkish threats and attacks.

The visiting delegation consisted of Co-Chair of the SDC Relations Office in Gozarto (Jazira) Region Hussein Azzam, member of the office Baqi Hamza, and member of the SDC Women’s Bureau Enas al-Sahwadhi.

The delegation was received by SUP Co-Chair Sanharib Barsoum and member of the SUP Executive Body Afram Ishak.

During the visit, the two sides discussed the most important work of the Syrian Democratic Council and its efforts towards unifying the political visions of the various Syrian parties through seminars it organized, both inside and outside Syria.

The two sides stressed the importance of these dialogues, which would unify the opposition’s efforts and its political vision for the future of Syria. They also discussed the military and political situation in the country and the challenges and threats facing the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria, especially by the Turkish occupation, which continues its aggressive policies against the people of the region.
