Jacobite Syrian Orthodox youth from India wins Gold Medal at Commonwealth Games in United Kingdom

BIRMINGHAM, United Kingdom — Jacobite Syrian Orthodox athlete Eldhose (Yaldo) Paul won the Gold Medal in the triple jump at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Paul is a member of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church — the Syriac Orthodox Church in India — in Kerala and was the first athlete from India to win a Gold Medal at this year’s Commonwealth Games.

Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II congratulated Paul and expressed his pride in his achievement, wishing him continued success.
