Education Authority of North and East Syria holds annual meeting
RAQQA, Syria — On Saturday, with the start of the new school year approaching, the Education Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria held its annual meeting in the presence of the Co-Chairs of the Executive Council of the DAA, the Co-Chairs of the Education Commission, and the co-chairs of the bodies and committees of the Education Authority, and members of the general public.
In a statement to Suroyo TV, Deputy Co-Chair of the Education Authority of the Gozarto (Jazira) Region Vivian Bahho Oussi highlighted the main points of discussion during the annual meeting and the importance of holding regular administrative meetings.
Oussi said that the meeting began with an analysis of the current political situation, reading the annual report of the Education Authority, and evaluating the reports of educational bodies and committees. They then discussed the organizational and administrative situation in the educational field in North and East of Syria and reviewed progress in achieving the prescribed outcomes of the last annual meeting.
She also mentioned the most prominent outcomes of this years meeting, such as the unification of the curriculum in North and East Syria, the development of strategies to develop the curricula and the capabilities of the teaching staff, the adoption of modern methods of education, the focus on cultivating the culture of brotherhood of peoples, acceptance of differing opinion, respect for women’s freedom and connection to the homeland, and other outcomes that would develop the educational reality in the region.
Oussi announced the importance of holding these meetings on a regular basis, which contributes to finding a formula to include all components of North and East Syria, their history, culture, and languages in the curricula adopted in the region.
