Syriac institutions in North and East Syria commemorate martyrs of Bethnahrin National Council
HASAKAH, Syria — Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) institutions in North and East Syria held an event to remember the martyrs of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo d’Bethnahrin, MUB) at the shrine of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) martyrs in the city of Hasakah.
The event was attended by representatives of various Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) institutions, families of martyrs, and a large gathering of the public.
A minute of silence was observed for the souls of the martyrs, followed by a military parade by the forces of the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS) and the Sutoro (Syriac Security Forces).
A speech was delivered on behalf of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) by party member Heba Asya, in which she stressed the greatness of the meaning of martyrdom and the great sacrifices made by Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) martyrs in defense of the homeland and preservation of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people.
This was followed by a speech of the Syriac Martyrs’ Families Council delivered by member Jamil Baho Osi. The speech touched upon the shared shedding of blood by the martyrs all components on the region in defense of it against brutal terrorism.
The official spokesperson of the Sutoro, Akkad Hanna, affirmed in his speech their readiness to defend the gains made by the martyrs’ sacrifices and to follow in their footsteps in defense of the homeland of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia).
The commemoration activities were concluded with the lighting of candles at the graves of martyrs.
