Volleyball match held in memory of Martyr Aryo in Dayrik, North and East Syria
DAYRIK, Syria — A commemorative volleyball match between the Al-Rafidain men’s and women’s teams was held in honor of Martyr Aryo in Dayrik (Malikiyah), North and East Syria.
The match was organized by the local council of the Syriac Orthodox Church.
The match was attended by members of the General Command of the Sutoro (Syriac Security Forces), a part of the region’s Internal Security Forces (ISF), Sutoro Women, the Syriac Military Council (Mawtbo Fulḥoyo Suryoyo, MFS), and a number of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people from in Dayrik.
After the match ended, the Sutoro General Command presented a commemorative shield to the family of the Martyr Aryo and the winner’s cup. The Sutoro and Sutoro Women provided full protection for the event.
Martyr Aryo, a member of the Sutoro, was martyred last month in a bombing carried out by a Turkish drone on a car he was traveling in.
