Iraqi Theater Festival honors General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts
BAGHDAD — In appreciation of the great efforts of General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts, the 6th Iraqi Theater Festival honored General Director of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) Kaldo Ramzi Oganna with the Iraqi Creativity Shield, at Al-Mansour Theater in Baghdad.
Oganna delivered a speech, in which he affirmed that the Syriac people were pioneers in theater. He dedicated the award to the soul of the Iraqi theater artist Azadohi Samuel and to the souls of all the Syriac theater artists in Iraq.
In other news, Oganna visited Chaldean Patriarch Mor Louis Raphael Sako. They discussed the keenness of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts to be present in all cultural and artistic festivals, which show the actual role of the Syriac people in culture and art.
Oganna also visited the Syriac artist Fareed Soraya who thanked the Directorate for its tireless efforts and role in developing the Syriac culture, art and heritage.
