HOLEB, Syria — Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II held a special prayer service at the Mor Aphrem the Syriac Cathedral in Holeb (Aleppo) on the tenth anniversary of the kidnapping of Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Aleppo Boulos Yaziji and Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Aleppo Gregorios Youhanna Ibrahim. The congregation prayed for the safety of the two bishops and for information about their fates to be revealed.

During the service, the Patriarch announced the publication of a new book entitled A Citizen’s Vision. The book, containing articles and interviews by Archbishop Ibrahim, was published in print for the first time and focuses on citizenship, coexistence, and the history of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) emigration and displacement.

Patriarch Aphrem offered an Easter blessing to the kidnapped men and stated that the people of the Archdiocese holds them in their hearts. The kidnapped clergy were not only representatives of their Churches but for all of Christianity, he added.
