AANES democratic peace initiative to end Syrian crisis welcomed locally and internationally

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Earlier this week, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria proposed a new initiative to solve the Syrian issue after 12 years of conflict.

The AANES initiative has received positive reactions from both local and international human rights activists, who consider it a necessary step to end the suffering of the Syrian people and establish a real structure for change.

Syrian writer and political researcher Ahmed al-Darzi called on the Syrian government to respond positively to the AANES initiative, saying that it is an important step towards achieving a comprehensive political solution.

Hassan Younes, another Syrian writer, confirmed that the initiative carries many positive and essential points for all the Syrian people in his comments made to Hawar News Agency.

Alfred Riachi, the Secretary-General of the Permanent Conference of the Federation in Lebanon, welcomed the initiative, stating that it aims to lift Syrian society from suffering and save the country.

Strategic military analyst and former Syrian Navy Brigadier General Ahmad Rahal welcomed the AANES initiative, indicating that it plays an important political role in the Syrian issue, unlike the rest of the rigid parties to the conflict. He also emphasized that this initiative is positive to emphasize the unity of Syria.

Rahal believes that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) must have a real place in the Syrian opposition to achieve a Syrian-Syrian solution that ends the suffering of the Syrian people. “The initiative is not just rhetoric, but a real initiative that creates an environment for all Syrians to come together,” he stated.
