BETH NAHRIN — With the participation of members and officials of all institutions active in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, Europe, and the United States, the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) held its annual conference via videoconference. The conference covered all the activities and work accomplished in the past year and reports on the work of each institution were read.

During the conference, the participants presented their opinions on a number of issues related to the mechanism of work of the MUB and discussed hurdles faced in the past year.

The Council’s agenda for the coming year was then discussed. In general, the agenda focused on international advocacy of the rights of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and increasing awareness of their situation in the homeland.

At the end of the conference, MUB President Naim Michael Hadodo spoke about the current political landscape and the gains awaiting the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people. He stressed the need to continue the organization’s hard work and not give way to those working to create political instability.
