Syriac Orthodox Archbishop visits Ministry of Education to discuss educational development in Kurdistan Region of Iraq

ERBIL, Iraq — Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Mosul and Kerkeslokh (Kirkuk) Mor Nicodemus Daoud Matta Sharaf, recently visited to the Ministry of Education headquarters in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Accompanied by a delegation from the Administration of Meltho International School, the Archbishop held a meeting with the Minister of Education, Alan Hama Saeed Saleh.

During the meeting, Archbishop Sharaf extended his congratulations to the Minister on his recent achievement of obtaining a Ph.D. in political science. They engaged in discussions regarding the progress of the educational process at Meltho International School and explored ways to implement the Ministry of Education’s action plan aimed at developing the educational sector.

Furthermore, they delved into the topic of cultivating an advanced and well-rounded generation capable of playing an effective role in society’s development by fostering scientific, artistic, and technological advancements.

Expressing gratitude, the Archbishop concluded the meeting by thanking the Minister for the unwavering support provided by the KRI government and the Ministry of Education in bolstering the educational sector.
