Killer of Syriac Murad Barsom arrested trying to flee to Lebanon

HMOTH, Syria — Less than 24 hours after the brutal murder of Syriac Murad Barsom, the security forces in the region arrested the suspected killer, Saleh al-Hammoud, while he was attempting to flee Syria and cross into Lebanon near Dabousa.

The Barsom family and activists through social media have called for the harshest punishment for the murder of Murad, the death penalty.

According to official reports and video footage, Murad was killed by a brick thrown by the suspect from the roof of a building. The brick struck Barsom in the head, resulting in his death.
