Syrian Democratic Forces report confession of Syrian-regime fighter in Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor)
DAYRO ZCURO, Syria — The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released video footage of the confession of a captured member of the Syrian-regime aligned National Defense Forces (NDF) who was fighting during the recent clashes in Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor), North and East Syria.
The man, Ghayath Jumaa Surur, was apprehended during sweeping operations conducted following the conclusion of the SDF’s security operation in Al-Busayrah, located in the outskirts of Dayro Zcuro.
In the video, Surur states that he originally hails from the countryside of Daramsuq (Damascus) and admitted to receiving orders from an NDF leader to engage in combat against the SDF while operating under the guise of tribal forces in the eastern countryside of Dayro Zcuro.
In a statement released by the SDF on Saturday, several members of the NDF were detained during combing operations in the countryside of Dayro Zcuro, despite the Syrian regime’s disavowal of its forces’ presence and involvement in causing turmoil and devastation in the region.
