Delegation representing Christian, Yezidi, and Sabean-Mandaean endowments meet with Patriarch of Assyrian Church of the East Mar Awa III Royel
BAGHDAD — In a concerted effort to enhance cooperation and promote the values of coexistence, Patriarch of Assyrian Church of the East Mar Awa III Royel received a delegation representing the Christian, Yezidi, and Sabean-Mandaean at the Patriarchate headquarters in Baghdad. The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Issam Avram Hanna, the Director General of Christian Affairs within the Office of Endowments. Accompanying him was Mr. Raad Boutros, head of the Office’s Mosul Department.
During their meeting, the delegation engaged in a substantive discussion that encompassed various topics. These included the ongoing efforts by the Office of Endowments to meticulously document all religious sites significant to the Christian, Yezidi, and Sabean-Mandaean community, making this valuable information accessible through its website.
Both parties underlined the paramount significance of strengthening communication channels between the Department of Christian Affairs and the various Churches. Hanna expressed his unwavering commitment to serving and supporting all officially recognized Churches, along with their devoted congregations, in Iraq. This collaboration reflects a shared dedication to preserving religious diversity and promoting harmonious coexistence within the region.
