Syriac Women’s Union official Ilham Matli commends holding Syrian Democratic Council conference in North and East Syria

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In comments to our news desk, official of the Syriac Women’s Union in Syria (SWU) Ilham Matli congratulated the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) for holding its 4th conference, amid the challenges and Turkish attacks.

She added that holding the SDC conference in difficult such circumstances is evidence of strength and will of peoples in North and East Syria, and their solidarity for the success of the SDC and work of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).

She declared that all the peoples, including Syriacs (Arameans-Chaldeans-Assyrians), Arabs, Kurds and others, have proven their prominent role in the SDC, which is considered a political alliance between the active parties in North and East Syria.

“Women also have a fundamental role in the SDC, where they have representation in international forums,” Matli continued.

She stated that the SDC opened the way for all peoples to represent themselves in their own languages.
