Sutoro Spokesperson Akad Hanna: Turkey continuing genocidal policies, trying to uproot Syriac people from ancestral land

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Akad Hanna, the official spokesperson of the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) in North and East Syria, condemned the Turkish government for the drone strike that killed three Sutoro members and wounded two others on Wednesday, referring to it as a continuation of its genocidal policies targeting the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people.

In an interview with Suroyo TV, Hanna stated that Turkey’s continues its campaign of attacks along the Syria-Turkey border, targeting cities and towns in the region with alarming frequency.

In a somber announcement, Hanna disclosed plans for a ceremony to honor the fallen martyrs on Thursday, with their final resting place designated in the cemeteries of Dayrik.

Addressing Turkey’s true motives for its supposed “security” campaign, Hanna pointed to its ambition to displace the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) and other ethnic communities from Syria, echoing the devastating consequences of past genocidal campaigns, such as the 1915 Sayfo Genocide.

Expressing frustration over the prolonged international silence regarding Turkey’s aggression in North and East Syria, Hanna called on the global community to intervene. He emphasized the urgent need for action to prevent further bloodshed and displacement.
