Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Sweden and Scandinavia Mor Yohanon Lahdo extended condolence to families of Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) martyrs
DAYRIK, Syria — During the funeral service of martyrs of the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) Jamil Hanna Hanna and Sharbel Naim Saliba in Dayrik (Derik / Malikiyah), North and East Syria, the condolences telegram of Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Sweden and Scandinavia Mor Yohanon Lahdo was read.
The telegram was sent to Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Gozarto (Jazira) and Euphrates Mor Maurice Amsih who presided over the funeral prayer.
Mor Yohanon Lahdo began the telegram with a verse from the Holy Bible, and extended condolences to Mor Maurice Amsih, families of the two martyrs and all people of Dayrik (Derik / Malikiyah).
Mor Yohanon Lahdo expressed his deep regret for this great loss, recalling the saying of St. Paul, “Now we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you will not grieve as also the rest, who have no hope.”
Mor Yohanon Lahdo prayed to the Lord to have mercy on them and patience for their families.
He also wished that peace would prevail in Syria and all the East.
