In response to the recent Turkish strike, the Syriac Union Party (SUP) issued a stern condemnation, urging the international community to intervene and pressure Turkey to halt its assaults on the region.
The SUP denounced Turkey’s ongoing aggressive actions against the people of North and East Syria and the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) that represents them. The attacks have indiscriminately targeted civilian infrastructure and economic facilities, threatening the very fabric of life in the region, said the SUP.
Emphasizing its unwavering commitment to resistance and stability, the SUP vowed to stand firmly in support of the security and military forces that safeguard the region, providing a beacon of safety for all its inhabitants, including the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean).
Highlighting the destabilizing impact of Turkey’s belligerence, the SUP warned of the resurgence of the Islamic State (ISIS) and other extremists seeking to undermine the hard-won gains of DAARNES autonomous administration, achieved through the sacrifices of countless individuals from diverse backgrounds.
In a direct appeal to the US-led International Coalition, the SUP called for concerted pressure on Turkey to cease its attacks on the region, while also urging the Russian Federation to play a constructive role in preserving security and stability in the area.
