Bethnahrin Women’s Union in Switzerland marks International Women’s Day with festive celebration Cadempino

CADEMPINO, Switzerland — The Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo d’Neshe d’Bethnahrin, HNB) in Switzerland orchestrated a vibrant celebration in the community of Cadempino to commemorate International Women’s Day, drawing together a large gathering of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community.

Reports from Suroyo TV described an atmosphere brimming with positivity during the celebration.

The Centro Eventi hall in Cadempino witnessed a bustling turnout of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) families hailing from across the province of Ticino and neighboring provinces, all eager to partake in the festivities.

Distinguished guests, including Father Abrohom Bander from the Milli Council of Saint Jacob Church, graced the occasion alongside a vibrant assembly of young participants.

The event unfolded with stirring speeches and readings on the significance of 8 March and the impactful initiatives spearheaded by the Bethnahrin Women’s Union. Accompanied by the spirited melodies of artists Okin Tadaras and Hannibal George, attendees were treated to captivating folkloric dance performances.

Adding to the enchantment of the celebration, the children’s choir from Saint Jacob Church serenaded the audience with a medley of songs, while local women contributed sweets as a gesture of solidarity and support for the tireless efforts of the Bethnahrin Women’s Union in organizing the event.
