Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian artist Robert Beth Sayada passed away in the U.S. at 72

 

MODESTO, California, US — The Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian artist Robert Beth Sayada passed away in the U.S. at 72, leaving behind an impressive cultural legacy.

Sayada was born in Urmia, Iran in 1952. He was a well-known singer in Persian language.

In 1977, he began singing and performed nearly 2,700 public weddings and 3,000 other weddings pf the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people between 1977 and 2005.

In 1983, he emigrated from Iran to the U.S., where he continued his artistic career. Sayada had a prominent role in serving the national cause of Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people through singing. His first national song was “Mani Mani”, which was produced in 1982 in Iran and globally spread in 1983.

Through his songs, Sayada reflected the national issue, division and migration from Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia) of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people.

Sayada had been living in Modesto, California, for 25 years until he passed away. He had 1 son and 2 daughters.
