Death toll of Israeli bombing of Gaza school buildings rises to 30

GAZA — The number of victims from the bombing of Hassan Salameh and Al-Nasr schools has risen to 30 dead and dozens injured, including serious cases, according to Mahmoud Bassil, spokesman for Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip.

“At least 25 bodies, most of them children and women, and 50 injured, mostly children and women, were exhumed and transferred to the Baptist Hospital after an Israeli missile strike targeted the Hassan Salameh and Al-Nasr schools in the Al-Nasr neighborhood north of Gaza City, which shelter thousands of displaced people,” he added.

The Israeli military confirmed that airstrikes had been carried out on the two schools, which they claimed contained Hamas command and control complexes.

“Hamas’s Al-Furqan Brigade has used schools as hideouts for its terrorist operatives and as command centers,” the Israeli military stated.
