Christian Front urges federal system for Lebanon, condemns Hezbollah’s allegiance to Iran

BEIRUT — As Lebanon grapples with the severe fallout from conflicts exacerbated by Hezbollah’s alignment with Iran, the Christian Front issued a statement calling for the urgent adoption of a federal system to safeguard the country’s interests. The Front argues that such a system has become essential given Hezbollah’s persistent disregard for Lebanon’s welfare, driven by its religious, political, and ideological loyalty to Iran.

The statement warns that Hezbollah’s unwavering commitment to Iran’s agenda is increasingly isolating Lebanon on the regional and international stage. The Christian Front also called on Hezbollah and its Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, to abandon their policy of threats, asserting that their actions have failed to achieve their stated goals of destroying Israel or liberating Jerusalem. Instead, these wars have served only to consolidate Hezbollah’s power and further Iran’s influence over the region.

Furthermore, the Christian Front demanded the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1559 under Chapter Seven, urging the Security Council to intervene with military force if necessary to ensure compliance with the resolution, which calls for the disarmament of all militias in Lebanon.
