Co-Chair of Syriac Union Party in Syria Sanharib Barsom: Army of Clans in Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) in is clearly supported by Iran

DAYDO ZCURO, Syria —  In Suroyo TV program, Co-Chair of Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria Sanharib Barsom commented on the recent events in the countryside of Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) on the movements of faction of the National Defence forces (NDF) against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDC).

Barsom stated that the “Army of Clans” in Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) is clearly supported by Iran, on interests between the Syrian regime and these factions, under clans’ name.

“More than 80% of the clans of Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) are opponents of the Syrian regime,” he added.

Barsom declared that the armed groups are targeting civilians as a method of intimidation and spreading sedition, as well as accusing the SDF to gain support, but the Arab ethnic component does not accept the return of the Syrian regime rule and Iran to their areas.

Regarding the agreement concluded between Russia and the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) in this regard, Barsom stated that the Syrian regime is present in small areas of Zalin (Qamishli) and Hasakah, and the SDF and Internal Security forces (ISF) are putting pressure on it, in reaction to the events of Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor).

In addition, the Syrian regime is also practicing this policy in areas of Holeb (Aleppo).

He pointed out that it is in Russia’s interest for the region to enjoy stability, and this is what prompted the Russian side to mediate between the Syrian regime and the DAARNES, and that the latest agreement includes a humanitarian and political aspect.

As for the situation in Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor), Barsom added that the solution will be done separately, because the militias fighting in Dayro Zcuro (Deir ez-Zor) belong to Iran, and Russia does not have full authority and control over them.
