Head of Yisrael Beiteinu party Avigdor Lieberman threatens Syrian Regime over Iranian presence at terrorism conference

TEL AVIV — During the International Conference on Combating Terrorism at Reichman University, Avigdor Lieberman, head of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, issued a stern warning to the Syrian regime and Bashar al-Assad regarding their continued support for Iran and its factions.

“The Syrian regime must receive a clear message, both publicly and through intelligence channels, including direct communication with Assad,” Lieberman said. “If Syria continues to serve as a logistical base for our enemies, we will seize the Syrian part of Jabal al-Sheikh, and we will not relinquish it until further notice.”

Lieberman emphasized the need to establish a new line of defense in Lebanon and Syria, maintaining military control over certain areas to prevent attacks on northern Israeli towns.

Iranian-backed factions, including Lebanese Hezbollah and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), are stationed in Syria, provoking Israeli airstrikes on various targets in the country from time to time.
