Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem pray for peace
JERUSALEM — In response to the Pope’s call for the entire Catholic Church to observe a day of prayer, fasting, and repentance for global peace, with a special focus on the Holy Land, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa presided over an hour of prayer for peace at the Latin Cathedral in Jerusalem.
Patriarchs, archbishops, priests, monks, nuns, seminarists and official figures, as well as the faithful of the archdiocese attended the prayer.
Cardinal Pizzaballa thanked the Pope for his support. He also thanked all those who showed spiritual and material solidarity for the people in Holy Land.
“In this time when violence seems to be the only language, we will continue to speak of and believe in forgiveness and reconciliation,” Pizzaballa declared.
