Beth Nahrain Organization for Women organizes literacy program for women in Nineveh Plains

BAGHDEDE, Iraq — As part of its ongoing efforts to empower women and promote their development in various fields, the Beth Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW) recently concluded a special adult literacy course in the Nineveh Plains town of Baghdede (Qaraqosh / Hamdaniya), Iraq. The course, which ran for a month and a half, saw enthusiastic participation from a large number of women from the local community.

At the graduation ceremony, certificates and gifts were presented to the graduates by Ronak Elias, the organizing officer, and Bushra Mikhail, the course instructor. The event celebrated the achievements of the participants, who successfully completed the literacy program.

The organizers emphasized the importance of eradicating illiteracy to build stronger, more educated communities. They also highlighted the program’s role in enhancing the knowledge and skills of the women involved, empowering them to better navigate their personal and professional lives.

The organization expressed its gratitude to the participants for their commitment and trust, which helped make the literacy project a success despite the challenges the region is facing.
