Donald Trump appoints Chaldean lawyer Alina Habba as presidential legal adviser

WASHINGTON, D.C. — US President-elect Donald Trump has selected Chaldean lawyer Alina Habba as Counselor to the President.

Habba, 40, was born to a family that emigrated from Iraq in the 1980s, fleeing wars and unrest. Currently residing in New Jersey, she is married and a mother of three. Habba has worked closely with Trump’s legal team, representing President Trump in high-profile and complex cases.

Her role includes advising on legal challenges faced by the Trump campaign and representing him in court. Notably, she has taken a leading position in defending Trump in cases related to 34 criminal charges stemming from alleged financial violations in New York.

Habba has earned recognition as one of New Jersey’s leading lawyers and has become a trusted and integral part of Trump’s legal team, underscoring her prominent role in navigating legal hurdles during his presidency.
