Syriac people parties’ delegation meets with Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese in Sweden and Scandinavia Mor Youhanon Lahdo
SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden — A delegation of political parties of Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people in Sweden, including the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO), Assyrian Democratic Movement, European Syriac Union (ESU) and the Beth Nahrain Democratic Party, visited Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese in Sweden and Scandinavia Mor Youhanon Lahdo.
The parties’ representatives spoke about parties work in various fields, stressing its importance in strengthening the unity of Syriac people.
They also touched upon the alliance of parties, ways for the church to accommodate the alliance and support its future work, as well as the situation of Syriac people in Beth Nahrain (Mesopotamia).
They talked about the situation in Syria and the fall of the Syrian regime, the opportunities that have become available to Syriac people and other peoples at the current stage, as well as the need for the solidarity of peoples.
The archbishop blessed the parties work, stressing that the church is ready to support and strengthen relations with the parties.
The archbishop agreed with the parties’ representatives about the unity of Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people.
Earlier, a delegation from Syriac people political parties visited the Assyrian Church of the East and the Chaldean archbishop in Sweden Mor Saad Serop.
