Democratic People’s Council Co-Chair Siham Quryo: External interference cause for exclusion of Administration of North and East Syria from National Dialogue Conference

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Siham Quryo, Co-Chair of the Democratic Peoples’ Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES), attributed the exclusion of DAARNES from the National Dialogue Conference to external interferences.

“Dialogue between DAARNES and the Daramsuq [Damascus]) authorities has been positive,” Quryo stated in an interview with Al-Yaum TV.

She emphasized DAARNES’s commitment to the unity of Syrian territory and its people, expressing a willingness to cooperate with Damascus. She also highlighted the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) readiness to integrate into a restructured Syrian Army.

Quryo criticized the National Dialogue Conference for failing to establish committees tasked with implementing transitional justice. “It is the responsibility of the transitional administration in Daramsuq to prosecute all criminals and hold accountable those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity,” she stressed.

She argued that the exclusion policy of Damascus serves international agendas, particularly those of Turkey. “Turkey has rejected the existence of a democratic project on its southern borders and has heavily bet on its failure,” Quryo noted.

Quryo called for convening an inclusive national dialogue conference, ensuring the participation of all Syrians from all ethnic components. She underlined the importance of creating a platform that genuinely represents Syria’s diverse population and works toward lasting unity and justice.
