Johannes Hanna crowned world kickboxing champion in the weight class up to 65 kilograms

BRUSSELS — Syriac athlete Johannes Hanna, who resides in Belgium, claimed the World Kickboxing Championship title in the 65-kilogram weight category on Saturday. His triumph came after a fierce and closely contested match against his Belgian opponent, showcasing his remarkable skill and determination. 

Hanna’s victory marks a milestone in his career, as he continues to build an impressive track record of accomplishments in the sport of kickboxing. The decisive match, held in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd, spanned five intense rounds, during which Hanna demonstrated exceptional technique and resilience, ultimately securing the global title.

Originally from Germany, Hanna’s family roots trace back to Qabre Hewore (Qahtaniyah) in northeastern Syria. His father, Dr. Romulus Hanna, has played an influential role in his journey. Over the past few years, Johannes Hanna has emerged as a standout fighter in the kickboxing arena, participating in numerous local and European competitions. This year’s world title underscores his growing reputation as a formidable contender in international tournaments.
