Agreement between Administration of North and East Syria and Syrian Transitional Government to facilitate Syrian families’ in Al-Hol Camp
AL-HOL, Syria — Sheikhmous Ahmed, head of the Office of Displaced and Refugee Affairs in the Social Affairs and Labor Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES), announced an agreement had been reached with the Syrian Transitional Government (STG) to establish a joint mechanism for releasing Syrian families from Al-Hol Camp in North and East Syria.
The agreement is a continuation of the terms outlined in a previous accord between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the STG.
“A new agreement has been finalized to implement a shared mechanism for the safe exit of Syrian families from Al-Hol Camp and their return to their home regions,” Ahmed stated. He noted that the initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of these families and facilitate their departure from the camp.
The agreement was reached following a tripartite meeting at Al-Hol, which included representatives from the US-led International Coalition, an STG delegation, and DAARNES officials.
Ahmed emphasized that DAARNES remains committed to supporting all individuals who wish to voluntarily return to their areas of origin. He stressed that humanitarian concerns take precedence over any political considerations in this effort.
