IRAQ: Beth Nahrain Organization for Women concludes Psychological Art Therapy Program for youth in Nineveh Governorate
MOSUL, Iraq — The Beth Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW) in Iraq successfully concluded its Psychological Art Therapy course with a closing ceremony at the Youth and Sports Directorate Hall in Nineveh Governorate. The initiative, part of BNOW’s ongoing efforts to empower and support the psychological well-being of youth in the region, was supported by the Dutch organizations Stichting Ismaël and Bijzondere Noden.
The program utilized art, specifically drawing, as a therapeutic medium to address and explore participants’ psychological health. The closing event commenced with a warm welcome from host Suhair Ihsaa, followed by a moment of silence to honor martyrs.
In her keynote speech, BNOW Head Hanan Matti Tuma emphasized the positive impact of the initiative on the participants. She praised the program’s role in fostering personal growth and creativity among the youth.
The ceremony featured poetic recitals by participants, showcasing their creative development and emotional resilience. An accompanying exhibition displayed artwork created during the course, offering a vivid depiction of the participants’ therapeutic journeys and emotional expression through art.
The event concluded with the distribution of graduation certificates and gifts to the trainees, recognizing their dedication and achievements. Additionally, awards for excellence were presented to attending journalists in appreciation of their ongoing media support for BNOW’s initiatives.
