Family Center ‘Little Hands’ children’s business event brings joy and skill-building to children in Beth Zalin, North and East Syria
BETH ZALIN, North and East Syria — The Family Center of the Syriac Cross Organization for Relief and Development hosted Little Hands, a two-day recreational event for children in Beth Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria.
Sixteen boys and girls, joined by their parents, showcased small projects that included homemade foods, clothing, school supplies, and handmade crafts. The event drew dozens of locals who came to support the children’s initiatives.
The program featured engaging activities such as face painting, singing, and photography. A highlight of the event was art instructor Omar Ishaq, who captured the moment by drawing portraits of many children and attendees.
Christabel Assal, Director of the Family Center, explained to SyriacPress that the event aimed to teach children about commercial interactions, encourage societal integration, and foster personal growth through age-appropriate activities. “We want them to rely on themselves, build confidence, and learn through hands-on experiences,” Assal noted, emphasizing the enthusiasm of participants and their families.
