Syriac Assyrian Martyrs Families Foundation visits Office of the Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of Jazira Region in Amuda to mark anniversary of Autonomous Administration
AMUDA – On the anniversary of founding the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in Jazira Region, a delegation of the Syriac Assyrian Martyrs Families Foundation visited the Office of the Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of Jazira Region in Amuda yesterday.
The visiting delegation was greeted by the Co-Presidents of the Executive Council, Nazira Goreya and Talat Younis, who expressed their happiness with the visit and praised the sacrifices of the martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom and dignity of the people of the region. They also stressed that the systems of autonomy established in North and East Syria have proven the ability to spread peace between all the region’s peoples, as well as building institutions that express the will of peoples to live together under participatory democracy.
During the visit, the delegation praised the resilience of the Autonomous Administration in facing the challenges set before it. The delegation remarked that the Autonomous Administration is a reflection the determination and steadfastness shown by the peoples of the region and their many sacrifices made to ensure a life of dignity.
“We will prove to the whole world that we are on one hand defending our land, and on the other hand, building the institutions for people, affirming the fulfillment of the brotherhood of the peoples that embodied the mixing of the blood of the martyrs of all components: Syriac, Arab, Kurd, and Armenian,” spoke a delegation member.
The visiting delegation presented an honorary plaque to the Co-Presidents, which was handed over by the son of a martyr.
At the end of the visit, the delegation affirmed that they will continuously follow the path of the martyrs and preserve the gains and achievements of the Autonomous Administration during its six years.
