BAGHDAD — Spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces Yahya Rasoul issued a statement on Monday announcing the arrest of a high-level leader of the Islamic State at Baghdad International Airport.
“Through continuous follow-up and field work, the Counter-Terrorism Forces were able to arrest the so-called General Administrative Coordinator of the ISIS terrorist organization, known as Abu Naba, with a unique operation at Baghdad International Airport,” said Rasoul.
In his statement, Rasoul said Abu Naba was attempting to hold a meeting with other ISIS members in the outskirts of Baghdad.
Abu Naba has been part of various terrorist organizations since 2003, most notably Qaeda and ISIS.
