KARAMLESH, Iraq — The Beth Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW) opened its third office in the town of Karamlesh in Nineveh Plains in Iraq. The office’s first public activity was a drawing course for children aged 12 and 13. The course lasted for three months and were given by Mr. Wamed Matta and social psychology Ms. Shirin Hamid Raffo. The course was supervised by Sahera Jamil Elias and Ishtar Gabriel.
The project was organized with the support of the Dutch non-profit Stichting Ismael, the main sponsor of the course. Stichting Ismael focuses on the psychological rehabilitation of children and young people and addressing psychological crises caused by the conditions of war and displacement.
