Beth Nahrin National Council issues statement on 21st anniversary of its founding
The Presidential Board of the Beth Nahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) issued a statement on the anniversary of its founding. Entitled ‘Beth Nahrin National Council Strategy of Victory of Our People”, the 18th of June marks the anniversary of the founding of the Council to serve the our people, the beginning of the struggle for freedom, and its recognition of standing proudly in the face of slavery.
“June 18th this year marks the 21st anniversary of the founding of the Beth Nahrin National Council, the day of the declaration of the will of our people, and this campaign, which is timely and as a result of the decades-long struggle, has rejected the policies of local displacement, seizure and displacement from the homeland.
The will is the cornerstone of the organization and the struggle of the Beth Nahrin National Council, which has taken on the historical responsibility of managing and achieving the will of our people through their parties, thereby opening a new page.”
The statement added that the Council aims to overcome and hold accountable all hostile policies targeting the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people, as well as to enable them to again play their role in the writing and making of history.
“Although we celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the Council and enter the 22nd year of the struggle, different parties continue to exercise their transgressions and violate the rights of our people.
The geography and livelihoods of Beth Nahrin have been sabotaged by the Turkish, Syrian, Iranian and Iraqi regimes, which have practiced policies of displacement, sabotage and wars against our people and the peoples of the Middle East, and note that the mentality of genocide continues in these regimes, and seeks to commit new crimes in the region.
We, as the Beth Nahrin National Council, have faith and confidence that all democratic movements in the Middle East, if united, can put an end to the terrorism that is widespread in the countries of the region, the continue the struggle against hostile policies and regimes of looting and sabotage.
Creating a solid ground at the regional and international level, requiring us to expand and strengthen our strategy, which is the basis for the freedom of our people, and for those demands and needs, we will strengthen our political, diplomatic, national and institutional strategy of struggle.
During the next phase, we will work to better activate our work, empower our people in all areas of life, do the will of our people to manage their affairs and express their identity, and to achieve these goals, we ask our organizational structure and our people who love their homeland to carry out their duties in order to achieve the goals of our martyrs, and to learn about the importance of presenting a struggle for freedom.
The founding of the Beth Nahrin National Council is a service to our people, and is the date of the beginning of the struggle for freedom. It represents the decision to stand proudly for our people in the face of slavery. On this occasion, let the anniversary of the founding of the Council be a blessing to the families of the martyrs, our organizational structure and to our Syriac (Aramean-Assyrian-Chaldean) People.”
